EGG & SPERM FREEZING

Female fertility begins to decline after 30 years of age as the quality and quantity of the eggs in her ovaries declines

But your uterus remains healthy and able to support pregnancy until about age 50. The continued loss of eggs associated with this decline results in increased rates of miscarriage, chromosomal (genetic) abnormalities, and infertility especially for women older than thirty-five.

EGG &SPERM FREEZING

Female FERTILITY begins to DECLINE after 30 years of age as the quality and quantity of the eggs in the ovaries decreases.  Even in males, the number of good quality healthy sperms declines with increasing ages   and DNA damage of the sperms increases. These age-related changes lead   to INFERTILITY, increased rates of MISCARRIAGE, chromosomal (GENETIC) abnormalities or PREGNANCY COMPLICATIONS.

FERTILITY PRESERVATION techniques like EGG FREEZING gives a woman the opportunity to store her ‘younger’ eggs to be used later for pregnancy when she is ready.

Similarly men  or women  going for a CANCER TREATMENT following which generally  fertility potential decreases drastically ,can have their  SPERM OR EGG CRYO PRESERVED. This ensures that they still have the choice to start a family and is a reliable BACK-UP PLAN if you encounter fertility problems.

  • EGG FREEZING involves a woman choosing to have eggs retrieved from her ovaries, frozen to preserve their viability and stored until she is ready to use them in a future in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatment to achieve pregnancy.
  • EGG FREEZING  gives  a woman the opportunity to use ‘younger’ eggs whenever she decides she would like to become pregnant. This allows her to avoid the decreased fertility and increased miscarriage rates associated with advanced age.If  you freeze your eggs at age 28 and use them at age 39, your chance of a successful pregnancy is same as of 28-year old women.

Who should go for EGG FREEZING??

Freezing is suggested for women who:

  • Not ready to have children right now  as want  to focus on with their education or careers first or due it issues.
  • Family history of early menopause
  • Cancer patients going for  chemotherapy or radiotherapy as they may damage the reproductive cells and leave individuals unable to have the child  they have been dreaming of.
  • Wishing to delay having another child

What is the process of freezing eggs?

It  is similar to the initial process of  IVF because both begin with OVULATION INDUCTION  or Controlled Ovarian Hyperstimulation, the woman takes hormone medication to increase the number of eggs available. The patient will need to take hormones daily for approximately 10 to 12 days to produce multiple eggs before regular ovulation.

  • EGG RETRIVAL is a short surgical procedure where   the mature eggs in their follicles are aspirated via  a long needle inserted through the vagina under ultrasound guidance.
  • The collected eggs are then frozen with a  method known as VETRIFICATION . They are then stored in a secure facility until needed.

EGG CRYOPRESERVATION Is it right for me??

There are many valid reasons to delay pregnancy.

No matter the reason, only you can determine the ‘best time’ to start your family. With  the egg freezing technologies , you can feel empowered knowing that you have the final say over your biological clock

What is the best time for EGG FREEZING??

Earlier is better when it comes to selecting a time to freeze your eggs. Younger eggs offer better chances of a successful pregnancy, no matter when you decide to use the eggs. Optimum egg freezing age is 25-37 when you have the highest ovarian reserve. Egg freezing after age 37 is still an option, but you may need multiple IVF cycles to get the recommended number of eggs.

Our Egg Freezing Program ensures that you still have the choice to start a family when you’re ready and is a reliable back-up plan if you encounter fertility problems.

SPERM FREEZING SPERM BANK

Female fertility begins to decline after 30 years of age as the quality and quantity of the eggs in her ovaries declines

However, it is a well known fact that a woman’s fertility declines as she ages, even the male infertility is also affected with the age. The number of good quality healthy sperms declines with increasing  ages   and DNA damage of the sperms increased. And even lead to pregnancy  complications later  in life.

Freezing sperm refers to the freezing and storage of a man’s sperm. Stored sperm in a sperm bank can be frozen indefinitely until needed for assisted reproductive procedures, such as in vitro fertilization (IVF), intrauterine insemination (IUI) or sperm donation.

Common reasons to choose to freeze sperm:

  • Advancing age.
  • Deteriorating sperm quality or low quantity.
  • Cancer or other medical reasons.
  • Pre-vasectomy patients.
  • Career and lifestyle choices, such as those with high-risk occupations or who spend a lot of time away from their significant other.
  • It is becoming more common for individuals to have children later in life, once they have achieved success in education or careers.
  • For couples and individuals waiting to start or grow their family because they are not ready now or in the immediate future, My Center offers egg and  sperm freezing services by which  you can preserve the genetic material of the mother, father, or both to use when the time is right to have a child.
  • My center is happy to help these individuals start their families with the assistance of modern medical technology such as cryopreservations of  egg or sperm freezing services.
  • Every couple deserves to enjoy the “bliss of parenthood”.
